Male betta with a yellow base and koi galaxy or marble patterns, which may include blue, white, or green and some dragon-scale coloration. The supplier describes the fish as Halfmoon or Over Halfmoon, with large fins; the upper fin may be high and is called “skyhawk” or “mohawk.” Fin types may include rose tail, orchid, or feather tail.

The supplier states that these are young adults aged 3–4 months and may continue growing until 9–10 months. A similar fish will be supplied, not necessarily the one pictured.

Water type: freshwater and hard water. Minimum aquarium size: 5 gallons; add 1 gallon for each additional adult fish.

• Water temperature: 74–82 °F.
• pH: 6.8–7.6.
• Stated hardness: 12–18 kH.

Substrate: sand, rocks, and vegetation.

Setup: plants, caves, and decorations.

Filter: the supplier says it is not essential but may be used to maintain water quality.

Aerator: yes, to aerate the water.

Lighting: not necessary unless the aquarium is heavily planted or does not receive natural daylight.

Heater: yes, to prevent temperature fluctuations and maintain the stated temperature range.

For acclimation, the supplier advises floating the sealed bag in the aquarium for approximately 15–20 minutes; then gradually adding small amounts of aquarium water over another 15–20 minutes, transferring the fish with a net, not pouring transport water into the aquarium, and turning off the lights while the fish adjusts.

You should not add another male betta, because they will fight.
